| Starr East Asian Library | The renovation of Columbia University’s Starr East Asian Library restores the spatial arrangements of the original McKim, Mead, and White Beaux Arts design while transforming the facility to meet the elevated information technology standards fit for a leading educational institution. The reconfiguration makes it easier for patrons and personnel to interact but also creates distinct public and personnel areas, resulting in clear, efficient division of spaces. The installation includes a 42-foot long circulation desk that allows full accessibility for both wheelchair and physically able individuals. |
