| Louis Armstrong Historical Museum | Across the street from Louis Armstrong’s restored home, this new center provides an area where visitors can enjoy the rich music that defined the musician’s famed career. The curving building contains exhibition areas, research rooms, and a Jazz Room where live musicians play. The structure is designed to achieve a LEED Gold rating; it utilizes green roofing and a careful selection of ecologically sensitive materials. The façade curves towards the existing Louis Armstrong home; visitors on the first floor can maintain a constant view of the home through the glass front. |
