| Taylor-Wythe Houses Community Center | The renovation of the Taylor-Wythe Houses Community Center is one of many undertaken by the New York City Housing Authority. At this Center, a series of lower light canopies are introduced to modulate the existing 17-foot high ceilings and new windows reveal the ongoing activities to its users and visitors. To enable games and plays to take place, the generous gym is equipped with sound damping panels painted in light colors to allow a far more efficient use of daylight. The prudent use of discrete and affordable design elements helped transform the existing space into an enhanced gathering place for the community. |
