Michael Behrman, AIA
Associate Principal
Michael Behrman has spent 14 years at Caples Jefferson, growing from junior designer of the New Spirit Café to project manager for the Weeksville Heritage Center and the Louis Armstrong House Museum Visitors Center.
Mr. Behrman's strengths range from conceptual and detailed design to construction administration. A true senior designer, he originated the spiraling entrances of the Queens Theatre-in-the-Park nebula, developed the complex brass mesh and glass facade of the Louis Armstrong center, and guided the detailed wood and slate exterior of Weeksville throughout design and construction.
His projects have earned numerous distinctions including AIA chapter and NOMA national awards for Excellence in Architecture, a New York City Art Commission award, and a Municipal Arts Society MASterworks Award.
Mr. Behrman's work has been featured in a wide range of publications including Architectural Record, The Architect's Newspaper, ArchDaily, Architizer, C3, Detail, Fast Company Design, Tatlin, and The New York Times.
Mr. Behrman holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at the Cooper Union.
